Geographic Locations
or Las Vegas

Las Vegas: Sorted by Geographic Area or Location

Las Vegas Strip

The Strip is often considered the back bone of Las Vegas, although it's not really a part of the city. It is an unincorporated part of Clark County.

Las Vegas Strip Adjacent

Not right on the strip, but a short walk or quick carbide away…essentially near enough for visitors without cars.

Las Vegas Downtown

If the Strip is the back cone of Las Vegas, then Downtown is the heart and soul. Downtown Las Vegas now boasts an Arts District and new Cultural Corridor

Las Vegas Downtown Adjacent

Not quite downtown, but a short carbide or car ride away. Probably not advisable to go walking here just yet.

Las Vegas Downtown Arts District

A thriving new little community that hosts a monthly First Friday event.

Boulder Hwy

Boulder Highway is the old road that takes you from Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas and leads you through boulder city and out to Boulder Dam.

West Side

The Las Vegas Valley is flat and wide... and the Westside of the Valley is fast becoming the hoity toity end of the world.

Summerlin / Red Rock Area of Las Vegas

The far west side of the Valley is fast becoming the hoity toity end of the world.

East Side

The East side of the Valley has some older residential neighborhoods

Lake Las Vegas

Lake Las Vegas is a man made nirvana that is 20-30 minutes away from Las Vegas in time; a million miles away in feeling.

North Las Vegas and Nellis Air Force Base

The North side of the Valley is developing very quickly up towards Mount Charleston.

Mount Charleston

Things to do in the nearby local mountains to the north.

South End

The South end of the Valley generally encompasses the McCarren Airport and area out towards Henderson.

Boulder City

Boulder City is the charming little town on the way between Las Vegas and the Hoover, now Boulder Dam.

Henderson

Henderson is an extended community on the southern end of the Las Vegas Valley.

Outside of Town

Other nearby non-Las Vegas places that don't fit neatly into a geographic category.
